Nest - educational apiary

‘Nest - a reference to wild beehives. Embedded into the slope the freeform blends perfectly into the surrounding nature of the “Stilfser Joch Nationalpark”. Wooden tiles represent the traditional architecture of this region, while a continuous glass joint adds a modern element. The interior space is characterized by a series of steps that follow the slope inclination. The aim was to have as little impact on the environment as possible. An open plan living space with a room-in-room solution includes all necessary functions of a holiday home, as well as an apitherapy room. Southwest the beehives are integrated into the wall and slots in the exterior wall allow the bees to fly in- and out.
